"Evolution of Outbreak The first case of Cholera in Maela was reported in week 24 (27th May 2010). The number of cases has continuously increased and reached the epidemic peak in July 2010 (Week 27). During the outbreak, 578 cases were reported in total. Among them, 364 (63%) cases were lab confirmed, 213 (37%) cases were negative and one case was lost of sample. No death case was reported. In addition to the confirmed cases, 150 carriers were identified during Active Case Finding among the closed contact of the patients. In total, there were 514 Cholera Lab Confirmed cases and carriers in Maela Camp. The serogroup and serotype was Vibrio Cholerae O1 Ogawa for nearly all cases (n=363), while 1 case as identified as Vibrio Cholerae O1 Inaba at the end of the outbreak."
