Data Entry

Epidemiologic data on reported suspected and confirmed cholera cases, deaths, and number of tests performed were extracted from publicly available documents such as situation reports, WHO outbreak reports, the UNICEF Cholera Platform, and news articles. Read more about data contributors.

For individual reports, all observations were recorded in the database exactly as stated in the source document, including conflicting observations. For repeating sources which report the same observation in multiple consecutive documents such as weekly situation reports, we recorded only the observation from the most recent source document.

We are constantly working to add new Observation Collections (datasets), curate new Country Reports, and update the features of our data portal. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, check back later or drop us a line at cholera_data@jhu.edu.

We welcome your feedback!
