Suspected Case Def

In an area where the disease is not known to be present, a patient aged 5 years or more with severe dehydration or dies from acute watery diarrhea; or in an area where cholera is endemic, a patient aged 5 years or more with acute watery diarrhea with or without vomiting; or in an area where there is a cholera epidemic, a patient with acute watery diarrhea, with or without vomiting

Confirmed Case Def

A confirmed cholera case is a suspected case wherein Vibrio cholerae O1 or O139 is identified in the stool
